They were well done. They are printed, not engraved like your old Scrabble tiles. The wood is smooth, although some parts have a knot or darker wood grain pattern as you would expect from a real wood piece. My only fault with them is that they give you four sets of what you would normally find in a Scrabble game, which is fine if you play Scrabble with them, but if you use them for crafting, like me, you will You run out of some letters very quickly! They will also have a variety of other letters like E, I, A, etc. If you plan on using them for crafting I would suggest you also buy a set of Scrabble stamps. This is what I used to complete my projects. The font on the set suits them perfectly. Just use the blank side of these extra letters to print!
