Review on Sandisk Ultra Flair 128 GB Silver USB Flash Drive: Reliable and High-Speed Storage by Amar Amar ᠌

There are disadvantages, but the product is usable.

The temperature is rising quickly, but I don't foresee any implications. Someone in the reviews speculated that a sudden decrease in write speed might be caused by the controller overheating, but I was unable to detect this relationship. It acts exactly the same in both hot and cold conditions. Because of the small size and "inconspicuous" black and silver color, I nearly misplaced it a few times at first. I secured it with a big red keychain; it is no longer lost. There were no issues while periodically uploading tiny amounts of data (up to 1-2 GB) that were pre-made video clips from a camera for TV viewing. Writes up to 1 GB of data in chunks with lengthy gaps (at least a few minutes). The recording speed with a copy volume of more than 1 GB becomes like that of the most common flash drive, even though it is a USB-3 device. However, lately I frequently record 10-20 GB at a time at once (several videos or a few thousand high-quality JPG photos), and here I am VERY dissatisfied (specifically, yesterday 100 files with a total volume of 15 GB were uploaded for almost 22 minutes, which prompted me to write this, in general, negative review). In other words, I thought I was taking it for the volume and the recording speed, but in actuality, only the loudness is a benefit. I now realize that a high recording speed is crucial for me starting with a flash drive's 16 GB capacity because, at a low speed, such volumes remain unused. And in this case, the recording speed only works well with copies that are no larger than 1 GB in size at a time. At the time of purchase, however, truly fast flash drives were almost 2-3 times more expensive, and this one was only somewhat more expensive than the least expensive USB-3 flash drives.

Pros
  • recording speed under 90 Mb/s with copy volume AT ONCE up to 1 GB (then drops to 10-12). Large files are consistently read at a rate of 110–130 Mb/s. Reliability. Previous to that, I purchased three flash drives in a row through the online store from different manufacturers; two of them "dead" within a day, and the third one did so after a week (this is not usual, is it?). This person has been working continuously for more than a year without receiving the tiniest critique, producing several GB of writing, reading, and overwriting practically every day.
Cons
  • It writes only a little bit more than 1 Gb of data when writing a lot of data at a respectable speed (70-90 Mb/s), and then the speed reduces to 10-12 Mb/s (2-3 times slower than my other USB-3 flash drive). The flash drive has to "rest" for at least a few minutes in order to regain its high write speed. Such a recording speed is just a disgrace for 32 GB of capacity (a full flash drive takes almost an hour even when copying large files of 1-5 GB). According to the reviews, EVERYONE DOES IT, yet the maker does not mention this feature for some reason. Or does it completely combine all examples of the model?
