I ordered 2 pairs of these boots, medium for my 27 lb pup and small for my 20 lb pup. Neither boots nor socks have been worn before, but due to the extreme cold, a few inches of snow, and the fact that they don't like to rush into their shop, I figured something was needed. The main reason for the purchase was the price - most dog boots are about double the price. Maybe other boots are better suited for longer wear on rough terrain, who knows! They're perfect for protecting feet from salt, providing a bit of traction on ice, and keeping pups from dancing cold feet in the snow. A little difficult to put on at first due to the long double velcro straps which tend to stick to each other and the boots. Finally, I tried re-attaching the straps to himself, which helped a lot as they were easier to separate and wrap properly around the paws. My boys naturally jumped/dance a little while walking at first, but quickly learned that the shoes didn't stop them from getting to the treats! No problem getting his boots off, even for a 27-pound man who has to kick every time he finishes work. Both even discovered that they could walk in the snow! Just remember to wrap the velcro straps tightly around the paws/legs.
