Not unlike a human neck warmer, in fact it is a long tube that bears no resemblance to a dog's anatomy at all. The straps aren't great for keeping it on your ears without slipping down your face. I bought the medium for my 50lb Boxer Lab mix and it turned out to be slightly larger in girth. In the end I cut and sewed it together, smaller, and added some elastic around both holes to make it functional. It's a nice piece of soft felt, but if you want it to stay you'll have to alter it somehow. I live in an area of Minnesota where winds regularly reach -30F in the winter, so shelter is a must. I wouldn't buy this again, I would buy a cheap piece of fabric, an elastic headband, and a needle and thread.
