After many overheating issues with my old Dell laptop, I decided it was time to help my old lady stay cool. After a lot of research, countless hours of reading thousands of cooling pad reviews, I noticed a pattern...it seemed like the good reviews were written too soon, and the few that were updated seemed to be complaining about the same thing: one or more. the fan stopped working within a week or two while others said the cooling pad just died after a little over a month. I'm not rich (yet...π) I can't afford to spend $20-$30 every month! So I had to keep looking for a real solution. I came across this YouTube video where this guy shows a homemade version of a computer fan. That was my decision. I just needed to find a ready made one, at a fair price, and also one that had a different power supply than my laptop. After all, I'm trying to keep it running, so I don't want to add any more work. I found this fan and a metal laptop stand that sits flat. It seemed like the perfect combination. The box the fan came in was very well assembled. Everything looked neat inside. I removed the fan, adapter and instructions. The seller was happy to include a lanyard with a lock in case you want to keep the fans together. It was pretty easy to assemble. I took some more black straps and tied the compartments together to hold them together. I had to cut a small piece off the rubber circles that went in so the fans could be glued together nicely without creating pressure from the extra piece of rubber. It makes a very robust and well-made impression. With these fans you can blow or suck air. You just have to rotate them. You can easily feel which side blows and which sucks air by holding your hand close to it. I also like the metal security grilles, which are easy to remove too. The rubber feet can also be removed. And what's even better is the 1 year guarantee! I am very happy with my purchase. My laptop hasn't had any overheating issues since I set it up for her. I'm so glad I decided to do this. No regret.
