Turns out this flashlight isn't even splashproof, let alone fully waterproof. The charging socket is only covered by a cheap rubber plug that stays in place. I drove in the rain, wet road dirt got in with condensation, and now the lamp is useless. Doesn't come with a permanent mount (its "optional", not included) so it can stay on the bike horizontally or vertically, just mounts to the back seat or to a frame tube that is almost never horizontal or vertical . However, the "gaze" angle seems extremely wide and that seems to help in this situation.
