Review on πŸ” Enhanced IOGEAR MiniView GCS634U: 4-Port VGA USB KVM Switch with Audio and Cables by Kachilla Mountain

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A big slope. best of KVM switches

I read the comments that wireless keyboard/mouse is not supported and I agree with that. I'm using an MS 4000 keyboard and a wired Logitech mouse. I don't use the video jack and now see (from the mini product manual that came with the switch) that I could get by with the IOGear GUS404 USB switch for half the price. It took a few minutes to figure out the instructions and set things up. It took the Switch a few connects and disconnects to figure it out. After that, the [ScrLk][ScrLk]#[Enter] and [ScrLk][ScrLk][Enter] sequences worked fine to toggle between my two Windows 8.1 machines and one of my Windows 7 machines. Pros are that it works and looks beautiful on the table. The only downside is that the cables are quite heavy and all of your computers need to be within 6 feet of the switch. But that might just be a problem for me because I don't use video and should have ordered the GUS404 in the first place. ________________________________________________________________ A few months later. Every once in a while the switch just gets stuck and I have to crawl under it. my table to turn off all computers it's connected to to restart it. By freezing I mean it has refused to accept any more ScrLk-ScrLk-Enter sequences and the keyboard and mouse are not communicating with the specified computer. I finally understood what was going on. If I press ScrLk ScrLk and then nothing (because I get interrupted or my brain freezes) the switch freezes. It is imperative to press Enter within a few seconds of the ScrLk ScrLk sequence. Now that I've figured out what was causing the freezes it's become less of an issue, but it still happens sometimes and it's a pain royalty. So I lowered my rating from 4 to 3.
