Mold in rubber rings is difficult to detect!
These bottles have been working fine for the past few weeks until today I discovered that both rubber seals were covered in black mold. They are quite difficult to remove, especially the smaller one next to the mouthpiece cap. I threw out the gaskets and checked for leaks. It's a little leaky but I'll just give it a try while being careful not to toss them in my bag. I wouldn't recommend them, and next time I'll look for a bottle that either has easier-to-remove caps or no seals at all (e.g. a larger bottle from another brand that I have).
