Review on πŸ”Œ Legrand - On-Q Speaker Wire Plug, 5-Pack, High Performance 364827V5 by Matthew Aiono

Revainrating 4 out of 5

There are two different versions of this fork.

I bought this based on reviews and price. It arrived well packaged in one of those plastic cases that require a razor blade to open. Each pair of corks in the package has been individually sealed in a plastic bag. The gold plating on these plugs is not as good as a good pair of RCA plugs, but is satisfactory. They were easy to install with a small flat head screwdriver. There is a screw at the top and bottom of the connector that secures the bare wire to the connector. The screws are also gold plated. I had no problem installing 14 gauge wire and you could use 12 gauge wire with no problem. I would buy them again. Update: I bought another set of these plugs through Revain but the seller was Hi-Tech Media Inc (my first purchase was Amazon). The plugs from this company are self-crimping / screwable. There are no set screws to attach the bare wire to the connector. Termination is the same as expensive Monster brand forks. At first I was disappointed that it wasn't the same brand as my previous purchase. My opinion changed after I bought a set of screws with banana plugs (2 pairs) at a local electronics store for $19. I compared both sets of connectors, attaching and detaching them to 14 gauge wire. The only difference is that the base of the monster connector has a crown-shaped notch (I'm guessing for a better grip on the bare wire or increased contact of the wire with the base of the connector) where, like the screw on the Hi-Tech version, it has no such modification. The Monster connector also provides a tighter connection to the connector plug of the amplifier or speaker compared to On-Q or Hi-Tech (the connection to the connector plug of the On-Q and Hi-Tech connectors is tight and satisfactory). ). The hi-tech screw caps (5 pairs for $12 with shipping) work well so I'll be returning the monsters. the wire over the base of the connector down just over the threads. Then insert the fork into the base. Next spin together. The instructions that come with it don't tell you how to properly attach the connectors to the cable. I used instructions from monster plugins to find out.
