Review on πŸ“» Sangean RCR-24: AM/FM-Stereo Digital Tuning Radio with Extra Large LCD Display & Aux-in by Daniel Tonini

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as good for the money as I was hoping

The main reason I chose this Sangean model was the backup battery as temporary power outages are not uncommon in Florida. Surprisingly, the stereo speakers aren't that great compared to the 25 year old clock radios I've used. The digital setting is good, as is the audio alarm clock's gradually increasing volume (if the same feature were available for the alarm radio option). I'd rather have a 10 minute snooze time than the 5 minutes it gives you (or at least makes it programmable). Another feature of my old clock that I miss is that if you didn't turn off the clock radio after 10 minutes or snoozed, the signal would play on the radio with increasing intensity until you woke up. On the plus side, I like the big numbers on the display - the clock hangs on my dresser and this time I can tell the time while I'm lying in bed. The dimming function works well and balances daylight and sleep perfectly. As others have pointed out, setting the alarm time requires multiple steps and is a bit tedious. My biggest complaint is that when I turn on the alarm radio, the display shows radio station numbers instead of the time. So if, like me, you're a heavy sleeper or like to listen to the radio for a few minutes before getting up, you have no idea what time it is until you turn off your alarm clock. If it was a $25 watch it would be a very good deal.

Cons
