I purchased it at DZ as a gift for my mother-in-law since I wanted it to be less expensive and devoid of bells and whistles that she still won't use. Simplicity is a virtue in this situation. With its advantages: I am incredibly impressed and I loved the camera. For instance, in comparison to Panasonic, my Canon SX200 is a complete disaster. Shooting in an apartment with artificial lighting is for me the most crucial test. No device has succeeded in this test to date. And this one is really fantastic. Some claim that colors are more distorted in artificial illumination and at dusk. But, every other device I tried was considerably worse. Maybe the colors are a little off, but the images are STUNNING! Also, the image appears to be considerably lighter than the actual space. The frame is also better without a flash than it is with one. Stunning broad angle. I somehow didn't think much of this, but it is now very clear that anything that didn't previously fit into the frame is now included! It's great that the zoom works in video mode because this is unusual. Cons: Professional photographers may have issues, but for casual shooting and on a vacation, it's perfect.
