Damn good speakers for a variety of uses. I will be using them to replace the sound on my flat screen TV as apparently legally built in speakers are said to stink. I would have liked the set to be a bit thicker and have usable speakers. So far no one has come to my house and pulled out a micrometer to see how thick my TV is. I'm also not interested in running a 300-500 watt sound system to watch the news or watch my son watch a children's show. Anyway, I've seen several of these in the same $30 price range. It has very long cords, longer than any I've seen, which is a plus if you're using it on a large TV. The bass box is small with a large opening on the side rather than the bottom like many other speaker kits. I have two spots for this, a hard surface and a carpet stain, so the bottom bass port is poor. Many also have no cover or shielding on the lower bass port, just a bare speaker. It tears pretty quickly if you're not careful. It also has an adjustable bass. Not found on many 2.1s of this size/price and the volume control is on a small pod. The module has a headphone jack and a 3.5mm AUX input. Very convenient! The sound is very good. I'm not an audiophile, but I've played around with small 3.5mm Bluetooth speakers that range from $12 to $100 and sound a lot better. Good sparkling highs, although you have to mute the bass at full volume. It starts to sound harsh until you drop it below mid. Whether you need something to connect your phone/tablet to, replace a poor flat screen TV speaker, or get great sound from your PC for cheap, this seems like a winner. Second place went to Creative 2.1, which costs about $30. It has shorter cables, no bass adjustment, bottom bass vent, etc.
