First, there is no way to determine the internal battery charge level. No switch, no display, nothing. It's been sitting in a heap for months now, waiting until I have time to make sure the panel is putting out enough power to support my busy camera. Check which battery type and capacity is used. Because there's no way to know. Then verify that it is actually outputting 5V at enough amps to properly support the cameras. All I know is that I plugged it into the camera in bright sunlight for a full day and it didn't work for more than a couple of hours. Without an indicator to show whether the battery is low or not, the consumer can open the panel and check for themselves. I only give it a high rating because I expect to be able to adapt it to my needs in the long run. EDIT: The USB output doesn't put out 5V, it puts out battery voltage. There is no boost converter on the board. It's a bit strange.
