Review on Onewind Ultralight Hooded Rain Poncho: Ultimate Backpackers' Essential for Rain Protection by Dave Hess

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great poncho suitable for camping and hiking

I have been back to ponchos since I bought this poncho. It's lightweight (9 ounces) and covers the knees (I'm 5'11"). It comes with a strap and connector to adjust it so it doesn't snag or snag, but the strap is a bit short so it can be wrapped around from all sides so it can only be fitted from the front or from the back I will sew an extra grosgrain ribbon onto the belt to make it longer so it can be wrapped around the waist like a belt. With a backpack it does ride up the back but is still long enough to match the length of the shorts but that's one of the reasons I switched back to the poncho, I can put my backpack on and off of a poncho or put on a poncho without taking off my backpack It also has ventilation holes lighter than a raincoat and with a waist belt it doesn't blow much in the wind Advantages: - Price - Can be used as a tarpaulin - Backpack can be put on and taken off, soda ss my gear stays dry when I stop. pull something out - Ventilate easily and effectively. Cons - Can be a little uncomfortable to wear when it's very windy - Waist strap is only 18-20 inches long.
