I attempted to polish the buckle gently as it comes a bit dull for my taste. Within seconds a cheap Chinese copper plating was exposed under it's poorly painted bronze surface. It's not made of bronze or brass. It's Cheap Chinese Mystery Steel Plated in Copper and then cheaply pained to give it a bronze appearance.The problem is that even without polishing deliberately, the cheap paint will wear off exposing the copper plating under the paint with normal wear. Look for a solid brass buckle if you like this look.Stay away from this falsely advertised Chinese garbage.
