Review on JINSHI Men's Lightweight Quick-Dry Hiking Cargo Pants with Waterproof Multifunctional Pocket - Fashionable and Casual Pants by Jeff Olson

Quality Lightweight Hiking Pants

I travel every summer to Asia and always build some hiking into my trips. I am always torn as to what kind of gear to throw into my luggage that will not be too bulky. These hiking pants, for me, are a good choice. They are lightweight which makes them ideal for summer temperatures (I purposely chose a light color) and are easy to wash. They fit loosely which is good for scrambling over rocks and steeper climbs. As noted by other reviewers, they run a bit short. I take a 30 inch inseam and with hiking boots the large size is fine, but for someone taller, there might be a gap between the shoes and the bottom of the pants when climbing up a mountain. For hiking in colder weather, you'd probably want to wear these over some long underwear or tights to stay warm. So far they are durable enough and should last through many wearings. I do wish, however, that the flaps on the front cargo pockets had velcro or some other closings that would secure the contents a bit. there is one small zip pocket in the front (I wish it was larger) and zip closures on the back pockets, but the bigger pockets in the front would be more useful if they could be securely closed.Bottom line is that I am glad I ordered these. Despite a few quibbles, they are a quality product.

Pros
  • Men's hiking pants with cargo pockets. Fit smaller than expected and lightweight. Durable build.
Cons
  • The pants may be too stiff and uncomfortable for extended hikes or activities requiring a lot of movement
