Not for Minnesota Winter

My husband and I bought a pair of these items in men's and women's versions. We live in St. Paul, Minnesota and it hasn't been a particularly cold winter, although we do have some cold days (it was -3F yesterday with -21 winds, cold for reference but not as cold as it gets here) . . I bought them because for some reason I could only find white silk in stores, and for a woman (for obvious reasons) that's a bad idea. I gave them about three stars because my husband is happy with the ease of use. He's very warm-blooded, and men's clothes are better made than women's clothes (warmer, for example), so he's only had to wear them a few times this winter. I'm always cold so I've been wearing these bad boys almost every day since I bought them a few months ago. For a very light layer of warmth, they're decent. They keep me warm when I was young but a little colder and I still get chills walking to my car. On the plus side, you won't overheat all day indoors. They're not built for heavy use, and you shouldn't expect them to work for you in legally cold places like northern Minnesota, North Dakota, or even windy Chicago. I think they would have made it through the Lower Michigan winter, how warm it is. Unfortunately mine broke after a month. They can still be worn, but the crotch has completely disintegrated. I tend to give things that fall apart there a hunch of the doubt because I usually get pretty serious chub rubbing, but it fell apart pretty quickly. For a while I could wear them with holes but now they are falling apart completely and I will throw them away at the end of the season. Bottom line, they work well for you if you live in a warmer climate (e.g. lower Midwest or southern Michigan) where the coldest days are in your teens but typically stay in your 20s or 30s, and not too much. windy, where you won't wear them as your main underwear every day. I personally will not buy this brand again.
