Installed in my RV to share shore power and my inverter power with no switches or anything fancy and so far it's working like a champ. With proper handling and installation, there is no reason why the circuit board on the device should fail. I'm not a certified electrician but always remember that you are dealing with power, neutral and ground, this is not rocket science. I'm sure if someone breaks this thing and puts things together in the wrong place, the board will break. Just plug the two incoming power supplies into very well marked terminal blocks and connect the appropriate wire gauge for load sharing to the very well marked output side and I'm sure everything will always be fine. If you're into mix and match, I'm sure a quick swap board will come in handy. Advice, double and triple check what you've done and where it's going
