Review on Green Klean Kanteen Loop Bottle Cap by John Harvieux

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Replace your crappy 3.0 sports caps with these instead.

I started using Klean Kanteen water bottles in 2013. The first bottle I bought fell on hard surfaces a few times, there are some dents in the metal but it's still solid. I wouldn't have bought several other Klean Kanteen bottles over the years if I hadn't realized they were water bottle compatible. The first two came with 3.0 sport caps which have some issues. When I ordered my third Klean Kanteen, I had tried one with a flip top. I find looped baseball caps better than sports caps. I got rid of the sport caps and replaced them with these loop caps. Sports caps leak, make weird sucking noises when you drink from them, and require you to hold your mouth against the plastic material they (and these) are made of. , which has an unpleasant taste and is likely an endocrine disruptor. But the chemical problem of plastics becomes trivial, because as bottle caps, loop caps are far better than sports caps. With flip-top lids, your mouth never comes directly onto the plastic. Hinge covers are leak free. The green version, also available in black, adds character to your Klean Kanteen bottles. The hole is large enough for my medium-sized pinky to fit past the distal joint. So if your fingers are the same size, you can bend your pinky around the hole and carry the bottle like that. I usually just keep the metal of the bottle.
