Speech amplification on wireless microphones and systems

That's good... To be honest I'm not sure what to expect. I'm actually a professional singer, so I'm used to a different kind of mic in big halls (and I'm not saying that to sound arrogant or anything, just saying my experience with mics, which is more related to home use karaoke or presentations in a small room.) I certainly didn't run out of the house when I tried them out...in fact, I cranked up the volume on both the receiver and speakers. which I connected it to... BUT... maybe it's the speakers, which are really only for studio monitors. (Nevertheless, I just hooked up the same speakers to my laptop and played Deuter instrumentals, and there was plenty of sound! So not sure what exactly the problem is.) With the mic on, of course. and it turned out that there was a voice in the speakers. The mics are sensitive enough to pick up breath, puff of air, etc. you can hear it pretty easily, so I'm wondering if it's possible to test this better if I go to another room and someone else in the room stays with Microphone. Speakers... maybe my confusion about the volume is due to the sound competition when I'm hearing it from my own mouth at the same time... (but then again... I'm used to hearing myself through the monitors on stage, as well as from my own mouth, well and?... And again, maybe it has more to do with the power of the speakers). Maybe I just need to transfer the sound to something more powerful. I've found that speaking/singing through the top of the mic rather than into the mic seems to reduce breath noise. I haven't tried this. with my computer as I need to get proper cables for that, or see if my mic cable can be used to narrate an audio book with this receiver... and I definitely need a windscreen/pop-up screen. So… for home use I think it's definitely enough to raise your voice and have fun! I can't say what other purposes I might use them for yet, but I'll let you know if I've tried other methods. Incidentally, each microphone requires two AA batteries, and inserting them may seem difficult at first. There are 2 little stretch walls in the middle that keep them in place and you can easily slide in the first battery and then the second by snapping it in place...don't be nervous. Nothing breaks. 😉 Taking out the batteries between uses is usually not a bad idea, and here it seems to be more complicated. Those stretch walls work pretty well... You have to pull out the first battery with little intention.

Pros
  • There's something to that
Cons
  • Minor issues
