I was totally amazed with the new a6500 that you still need to have "two" wireless flashes and that you can't use the built in flash as a trigger , like other Sony cameras. I just got a new and absolutely amazing a6500 and this little guy is a beast and a great camera! I bought the HVL-F43M flash solely for my off-camera flash. Surprise, now I have to get another flash or Sony wireless to do what should already be in the camera. Incidentally, the flash is also very good, so there is nothing to complain about in terms of equipment. I travel fairly remote places and have very little space for gear so I spent a lot of money on the a6500. I hope this will change with some software/firmware updates in the future. If the manual says in fine print that the built-in flash doesn't work, the Sony off-camera flash will fire. Even the Sony help only says that the a6000 will not work without two flashes. It was a little annoying and I was looking for someone and some advice from Sony on how to fix it, update it and just get it working the way it should. Again, I really like the camera, lenses and flash, really top notch stuff! Sony HVLF43M High Power Flash with Quick Shift Bounce (Black)
