Review on Glitter Border 8 Count Placemats with Glitz by Jeffrey Sanders

My sister in law loves to decorate her table so I got her a themed table centerpiece for special occasions and holidays. Initially I was really excited about these napkins because they went really well with the Christmas theme I was planning to use and went well with the Lenox napkin rings I bought for them. Unfortunately, when I received these rugs, I was quickly disappointed when I realized that they were made of cardboard. Honestly, I went through the list in case the disappointment was my own fault and missed that statement. However, after browsing the list, the material does not appear and is only referred to as "mats". While not entirely dishonest, I find it a bit misleading. Reading "Matte" and considering the price I figured they would be made of the traditional matte material, nothing fancy but functional. (It feels like foam but rubs off easily.) I believe the material should be listed so buyers know exactly what to expect. Since they are made of cardboard, they are not very durable. My sister-in-law used them to set the table for New Year's Eve and I noticed the metal scratched in the middle. Nor can you delete them without damaging them. If you're looking for something that can be saved and reused, I wouldn't recommend them for the reasons listed above. If you are looking for something temporary this would be fantastic. They are great in a served table and look just like the photo. They are the perfect size for a standard sized cymbal and create a very nice shiny rim around the cymbal. My sister-in-law has received many compliments on how beautiful her table looks. They are very functional, just not durable.
