* Update. After wearing them around the house for a few hours they were very uncomfortable and we ended up sending them back. They had a stain that started rubbing even when worn casually inside. Too bad they ended up in the return pile and our search had to continue. My kid is SUPER picky about shoes. A rough spot, an odd arch support, or a chafe, and he's out. We have ordered a water shoe from almost every brand. It was exactly what he was looking for. The tongue covers any itchy/scratchy spots found on other pairs, they have a strong grip perfect for going up/down the river, they have a back so your heel doesn't catch on a rock stays put if she slips while walking and he says they are perfect. I also kept the next size up - why spoil perfection. He wears a size 5.5 in most shoes but since they were only even sizes I bought a 5 and 6. He likes 5 better, but not his sock. hit the front of the shoe and since you don't need an oversized shoe to go into the water, we have decided on a smaller size for the time being.
