Review on MERKUR Classic MK 25C 3 PieceRazor Double by Laura Thompson

I've been using a Merkur 34c closed comb for 6 months, perfecting my technique and forgetting 40 years of shaving with different iterations of cartridge razors. During the same period I have also used several well-regarded and respected shaving creams and soaps. I ordered a 25c open comb to see if I could shave better, although the 34c did a great job compared to my old cartridge razors. After my usual routine, I lather and apply to face with a Parker brush. For the first few strokes with the 25c razor I thought I was doing something wrong, it wasn't the same as shaving with my old 34c razor. I stopped, checked the angle again, and listened for the audio feedback I usually get. Everything seemed fine, but it was very different. Anyway I finished the first pass and washed out, wow what a shave for the first grit pass. There has never been such a smooth first round. Rewind for pass #2 over the fibers. When I was done with that pass, I considered making a third pass, my face was so smooth. I had to do a few small cleanings but nothing compared to other razors I've used. All I can say is if you're considering buying the 25c don't hesitate. Not aggressive, very smooth and great feedback through the grip. That's great. Even as an open comb razor, it is very smooth and easy to use. My 34c will now be my backup razor. 25c would be my daily razor.
