I've wanted one of these safety razors for a long time. Decided to buy one for Christmas. I took the razor apart and found it durable and well made. There were no burrs, porosity or uncleaned thread chipping as demonstrated in less flattering reviews. After reading many reviews about the close shave I can get with a razor, in particular the open shave I can get with disposable razors is still better than with this shaver. However, the overall experience of scraping rough skin on a foggy morning is better with a Merkur razor. It takes longer, more chance of cutting your neck, but I appreciate the weight and the feel. This is a less expensive alternative for those wanting to try an open comb razor. I personally don't find it that aggressive. But I'm an advanced double edge user.
