There are two problems with them (I have 3 of them): a. The device turns off for 10 hours as if someone pressed the power button. This is different from spinning the disc, it turns off the blue light. That renders the device useless for anything but hours of copying or sobbing. The device sometimes has problems with the USB connection. Most non-Apple and non-Samsung devices have these issues, as do Via chips. This is normal for mice and network devices, but fatal for storage. If you have a static setup and don't touch the cable, it works well enough if you can restart the random process that fails. Almost all hubs and devices from other brands as of 2019 are not of sufficient quality to store them.
