my apartment is very dry and I woke up myself. A lot has gotten better since I got this one. According to the Internet, the humidity should be between 40 and 50 percent. I have a weather station that measures the humidity, before the humidity was only seventeen percent, now I keep it around 50 percent. and can be increased or decreased as needed by adjusting the power. This is a lifesaver. UPDATE; I learned that you can reduce production when the humidity outside is high and vice versa when the humidity is low. UPDATE 2: I took two of my humidifiers out of storage for the winter, the one in the picture was making an awful noise and not emitting any mist so I figured that might mean I need to replace it. Here is the thing since I thought it was going to fail I looked for a replacement but then thought I would add some vinegar to see if that would help because you can use it to clean your coffee pot, it worked ! Since I'm not too rich, sometimes I try to correct the situation when it seems that the product is already running out. Incidentally, I used about 1/4 cup of white vinegar when filling the tank.
