Review on PROMIX Vegan Protein Powder Gluten by Jill Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A must-have for plant-based protein

For the price, this is about the best protein you can find. Like most things in life, it has its pros and cons. I'll focus on the benefits: #1 protein yield, just a 31 gram serving provides 25 grams of protein, that's about an 81% protein yield for a plant-based protein (very good)! #2 Promix contains a fantastic amino acid profile. There is no need to purchase additional BCAAs or EAAs, most likely there are more of them than are included in the protein blend. Protein #3 mixes well. I use water and haven't had any lumps. #4 Taste, I prefer to enjoy the taste of protein. It's not sweet, but the chocolate powder comes through with no aftertaste. #5 minimum ingredients. It has no fillers or fluff, which is partly the reason for the high protein yield. Cons: #1, this is more of a personal complaint than a downside. I wish they would list the percentage of protein type used. The label lists organic pea protein and organic sprouted brown rice. I would just like to know the actual percentages. I suspect there is more pea protein, but who knows. #2 not for me but the taste might not be sweet enough for some. Overall, it compares well to some of the highest animal protein on the market, and the price is reasonable. I wish they would add a "green" profile to really complement this already excellent protein.
