I just moved into my apartment and needed a cheap bed that was easy enough to handle. I wasn't expecting much from a $240 mattress from Amazon. but I was pleasantly surprised. The bed inflated almost instantly and I've had one of the best nights of my life so far. I have a bed on my old mattress that sits on the bed frame. Being quite high off the ground, this mattress will no doubt be fine without the box springs - and it'll be comfortable enough on its own on the floor when you're waiting to get a frame. Rigidity: Not as rigid as some memories. Styrofoam beds that I slept on, but you don't sink completely into them either. I believe the firmness will appeal to almost everyone; It's not soft enough to sink you fully into bed, but soft enough to be comfortable. Material: Seems like it's staying pretty cool. It's summer now and I don't wake up sweaty like I used to. Odor: At first it has a unique odor that quickly disappears. I'm not too concerned about strange smells because you have to keep in mind that your item came from a factory or warehouse somewhere. I will recommend it to anyone who needs a bed.
