In 2009 I went to Office Depot to try out office chairs and bought the exact same chair for $370 (after tax/coupons). Back then it was manufactured by Realspace Pro (10000 series, part number: 595515). It has a 10 year limited warranty and I've used it almost every day for several hours a day for the last 9.5 years. It held up very well until last summer when the leather on the seat began to fray and completely separated in the lumbar support area, exposing the foam inserts. The wheels weren't as smooth anymore either, but everything else was still solid. I thought long and hard about where to reupholster them, but it cost about the same as a new chair. So I was looking for a new chair and couldn't find one as good as this modular design until I came across the exact same design from another company at Revain. I was pleased to learn that I didn't need to look any further (who likes to buy chairs online that you can't display?). I am happy to report that it is exactly the same as the one I bought almost ten years ago. The only difference is that the quality of the leather seems to be better and the price was about $170 more (it was a lot scarier last month when it was almost $700 before it was reduced to a cheaper price of $500) . I think that's 10 years of inflation for you. Let's see how it holds up over time, but if I can live with this chair for 10 years like the previous one, I will be very happy with this chair. The chair itself is very comfortable and I slept well in this chair a lot. Everything is modular except for the lumbar area. Here are the things you can do: - Armrests move up and down, side to side, back and forth. - The headrest folds up and down and can be pulled up or down. - The headrest can also be removed if you don't want to use it. - The backrest can be raised or lowered. - The seat can be moved forwards and backwards - The seat height can be adjusted. The backward tilt and tilt tension can be adjusted. The wheels are mostly plastic, but durable.
