Review on Camera Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50 by Micha Kamierczak ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

if it is not possible to spend money on a mirrorless camera, then this is an acceptable option for price / quality reasons . no noise up to iso400 manual modes compensate for the shortcomings of intelligent ones. the i and i+ modes tend to increase the exposure above 400 already in cloudy weather and use the flash where it is not necessary. Indoors, under artificial lighting, P mode and manual modes are desirable. 20 mp compensate f3.5. Reducing the size + sharpen filter in PS allows you to achieve the desired sharpness. after processing in lightroom, decent pictures are obtained. pleased with the custom button. you can attach a white point to it. good lotion camera control from iphone and the ability to upload a photo to an iPhone via wifi in field conditions and immediately send it to the post office. and in the original image quality, without reduction. but to transfer to a computer or laptop via wifi, you need to install and configure PMH, which is inconvenient (if someone else's laptop). easier to copy from a flash drive. you can make high-quality HDR manually by adjusting the exposure. 360 panorama is also a big plus if you are doing 3D modeling. True, it turns out "almost 360". however, you can do it by hand. video is honest 1080p with Dolby Digital, with excellent daylight quality. But with artificial lighting, again, noise, problems with the white point (yellow). But this can be fixed in Speedgrade. convenient native case. the part covering the lens is detachable. on the sides and bottom, the chamber is covered with leather. much more convenient than ordinary cases for soap dishes - when shooting, you hold the camera by the case, it does not get dirty or scratched. what did not like: the lens does not close immediately when you switch to viewing, but after 40 seconds. this is inconvenient, frankly annoying. there is no button or setting. RAW wouldn't hurt. among the accessories, in addition to the obligatory ones - a protective film and a leather case, there is an electronic viewfinder, which is a super-option: comfort and quality of shooting. but it costs more than the camera itself) if blurry, learn to use the shutter, aperture and exposure.

Pros
  • compactness, price/quality, exposure compensation, manual modes
Cons
  • the lens does not close immediately when switching to playback mode, no RAW
