You won't believe it! The envious looks of other camera owners are just the beginning. Using this camera is a real pleasure. So far I've made 293 recordings on 1 of the 5 discs that came with it. I've found that 640 x 480 resolution is ideal for email, website use and printing, and at that resolution I can fit over 1000 images onto the hard drive. The manual says to use a lower resolution for email, but what you see on the LCD can be captured directly in email or used on your webpage. And get it. You can enlarge the captured image with the zoom lever and print a close-up image. The slide show feature is great for presentations as you can set a time interval for narration during playback. And with audio images, you can talk about your subject for up to a minute while taking a photo. In addition, the video mode allows you to make dynamic recordings as well as record the audio of your event. For birding on camera, the color viewfinder and 10x optical zoom are great for gold-cheeked warblers in the Texas Hill Country or hawks in Cape May. Observatory with a picture to show. Pictures hanging on the wall look like they were made by yourself. Postcard printouts do the same. I surprise myself every time I use this camera - SONY MVCCD1000.
