This makes a really great gift for a 5 year old. You can do it on your own and really feel like you've accomplished something. The product itself is cute and the colors are bright. The price was great. This is my new gift for 4-5 year old kids. My daughter got one for her birthday and then we bought one for a friend's birthday and both girls loved the project. This is a fun craft for little ones and very easy to make. You basically glue the fabric over the molded plastic. No glue is required, and apart from small bits of fabric, it's not messy at all. Another great thing is that once they get the hang of it, parental help is not required. I think that's one of the reasons it was such a hit, because it can really be made independently. I think it's great that there is also a color chart. I will definitely buy more!
