With Macbook M1. You CANNOT use the HDMI ports for two external monitors. Only ONE external monitor with M1. I have two Samsung monitors and ended up buying a "Plugable" brand dongle that displays two monitors with different windows. I kept this mokin anyway because of other useful features.
