I am very glad that I bought this model. I took it out of the box, washed the cups and made my first batch on an 8 hour cycle based on the reviews here. Ideal. Just perfect. Then, also thanks to the reviews here, I realized that the preparation of milk consists in its pasteurization, but my milk is already pasteurized. So now I just heat it to the perfect temperature, add a 6 ounce cup of the previous batch of yogurt, pop it in the machine for 8 hours and perfect yogurt comes out - it's a creamy liquid type. To make the cheese tart and thick, you need to boil the milk, cool it and add the starter at the right temperature. I also make it in a Pyrex bowl that fits in the machine and then put it in a small cotton bag that I hang with the bowl on the kitchen cabinet doorknob to catch the whey water until it dries to make the most amazing cream cheese to produce at all times. . . I run it on a 12 hour cycle to keep it tasty and tart. In the Middle East it is called Labneh. Add some zeatar (a blend of oriental herbs) and olive oil, make flatbread or naan and feast. It's delicious! This machine has been running daily since I received it. One day yogurt, one day cheese. My gut is so happy now. I keep the whey water, drain it and drink a little in the morning on an empty stomach. This is the healthiest thing imaginable to heal the body, stomach and intestines. Every protein powder in the world is labeled "Whey Protein". Why would I need someone to drain my whey water, then dehydrate it and add it to a bunch of other things, I have my own pure whey water. It doesn't taste super delicious, but then what medicine in this world tastes amazing? :) For my first batch, I used a 6-ounce tub of Greek Gods non-fat Greek yogurt, and I always use whole milk from non-hormoned cows. I also made a batch of goat cheese. OMG that was divine. What I like: Top compartment for lids. A timer that turns itself off - that cost me the money. yogurt yogurt cheese appearance. It's a sleek, clean car that sits in the corner of my booth. It's small and compact, perfect for a family of 2 and 4 pets. Our dogs and cats love that they get this yogurt daily. They love it. Our intestines are now very happy. 1 gallon of milk makes 3 full batches. It's $4 for a massive batch of excellent yogurt in all kinds of flavors for the whole week. Even my only lactose intolerant friend ate yogurt and cheese with minimal discomfort.
