Amazing leader in ball game and memory training

I have a 95 lb year old Doberman/Lab mix named Monkey who loves to play ball in the park. We often go to dog parks to play, but when I don't have time we go to our local fenced park. At first I thought he was so addicted to his favorite game that he ignored other dogs, but that's not the case. One day we came to the park and he played with another dog on a leash for a while, after that we parted ways. I had tennis balls and a launcher and everything was going great until he spotted another dog coming out of a gate at the other end of the park. He sped at full speed and didn't stop no matter what I said. Thank goodness he already met the dog and they were friendly and luckily the dog's owner was patient enough to stay there until I ran and grabbed him. I was so ashamed! I firmly believe in keeping the leash, especially since you never know if another dog will react or not. At that moment I was failing as a pet owner and had to find a solution. I started looking for long leads and found this one with great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I am very happy with the design and the length! This allows me to throw the ball far enough for the monkey to run at full speed, but still be able to get ahead and stop it if necessary. I attach the leash to the Ruffwear harness' chest connector so he doesn't injure himself if he accidentally steps on it while running. It glides perfectly over grass and mud when running and never gets caught. Plus, it's easy to fold and unfold with minimal tangling. The bright color warns others that he's on top even when he's "running free" and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. t, I can take the leash wherever I am and get him to it with a slight tug until he responds to the command. We also practice off-leash walking together – I only let him walk to a certain point in front of me before putting pressure on him so he knows what distance is acceptable. He quickly learns to stay with me and not go too far while always being 100% in control. This is a great investment for any dog owner and I highly recommend it!
