So this little number is a real gem. I accidentally dropped it twice, once from about 3 feet onto the tile floor and once off a swamp cooler onto my roof, onto the roof and onto the grass two stories below (the hood was up both times). Nothing damaged except a small scratch on the bonnet from the roof. I try not to drop my lenses and this is the only lens I've ever dropped. Maybe he's too small? maybe it works against him. Image quality is excellent, this is a manual focus lens so you'll need to memorize or write down your lens settings if you want to document these things. There's a little wide open vignetting so stop at f/4 or 5.6 to get rid of that, but I included it in the post a bit anyway so it doesn't bother me. It's sharp when you press focus, but trying to focus on moving subjects is tricky. It has a very short minimum focusing distance, and the close focus range takes up most of the focus ring area. Speaking of real estate, you can definitely use this lens for that purpose. The reason is that this is NOT a fisheye lens, it distorts all the lines and makes them round instead of straight. This lens maintains straight lines, so very little post-processing is required. This is a great little lens that is always in my bag.
