Apparently Microsoft (or whatever the original manufacturer was) had a design/manufacturing error. Many have had failures. I got one with my Surface and bought two more. So I have one for the home office, one for the office and one for my travel bag. Of course, the one I had in my briefcase broke when I was out and needed it. So I bought a replacement. As long as it works Because I love the Surface, if this charger fails, I'll buy two more just to have a spare. The question, of course, is where to store it. I don't want to carry two in one briefcase.
