Ideal for sweetening iced tea. But I love ice cream in the summer. I always used my mom's old teaspoons to scrape the crystallized/frozen soda off the ice because it's the best part of the float, and to get the last scoop of ice cream out of the bottom of the glass after the soda is gone. But the almost pointed tip of a spoon is not the ideal tool for every job. When I saw them I couldn't resist buying them. Unfortunately, the first set arrived in a Revain box with several other items, accidentally throwing them in the trash along with all the heavy wrapping paper. After I was done getting ready for being so stupid, I ordered another set. They really are exceptional quality for the price. Heavy, smoothly finished and visually appealing. Unfortunately, the shovel-like shape, which I thought was better than a regular teaspoon, makes it impossible to do the job hoped for. Ice crystals or ice cream slide off before I can get the spoon to the rim of the glass. I might try bending the handle towards the working end of the bucket to see if performance improves. But a great purchase for stirring sugar into iced tea.
