Review on Accurate Transmission Temperature Monitoring ๐ŸŒก๏ธ with AUTO METER 2640 Z-Series Electric Gauge by Michael Maes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for 97-01 Cherokee XJ. 2 inch hole saw + SEALIGHT 194 8SMD LED

As it comes with a single wire transmitter it is grounded through the transmission thread. If you don't use a transport but instead use T-shaped rubber cables, add an underinsulated ground wire between the sensor and the brass fitting used. The ground of the transmitter is connected to either the chassis or the negative terminal of the battery. The top (positive) wire of the transmitter is connected to the (S) terminal of the pressure gauge. I connected the (I) terminal to positive 12V on the cigarette output as well as ground to ground for the cigarette output. A A gear shift lamp was used as the light source. The normal light bulb has been replaced by LED SEALIGHT 6000k, brighter and colder. A 2" hole saw and some sandpaper worked well for a perfect fit on the sensor itself. I used an IR gun to test the transmitter's accuracy and it appears to be correct. I connected the sender block to a 3/8" fuel pressure tee from Glowshift + a 1/8" female and male NPT brass extension. Place this at the hotline (outlet) in front of the cooler with the 3/8" transfer line and 3/8" brass barbs. So far, so good.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I will add later
