Instead of filling our Christmas countdown calendar with candy and stuff I bought a snowman (and Santa with a reindeer) to fill our five year old daughter's daily glasses. What fun she has getting new parts every day and collecting them in the months leading up to Christmas. I copied the instructions and assembled the contents using the appropriately numbered instruction box so everything was assembled in order. She had so much fun. And at the end of the countdown she has something to show. Something to collect every year (because she likes to take things apart and put them back together ;) The smaller pieces are cute but not as sturdy as her duplos so she can't really "play" with them but tries anyway. Have fun. I love that you don't have to buy a lot of stuff to get really nice results. nice lego ;)
