I bought a nice stainless steel thermos from Walmart and loved to take it to work with hot coffee in the winter. So far, so good. I poured coffee into my travel mug and brought home the thermos in my bag. However, it also has a drinking spout and I use a very long metal straw for cold drinks in the summer. I drank straight from a thermos, filled it up with ice water at work, and took it home. And found it doesn't fit in my cup holder. I'm so crazy! I had to take out the straw, close it and carry it home in my bag. This coaster was the answer! It fits snugly and securely in my car cup holder and is the perfect diameter for my thermos. It also has a slot for a mug with a handle if you need it. My thermos has a lanyard on the lid so I don't need that feature right now, but it's nice to have when I switch things up. If I were to buy two, they would both fit in the console's cup holder holes. I drive GMC Terrain. I find it a bit overpriced, but it works!
