Okay, don't laugh, but it took me a few tries and a few moments of frustration when I first bought these needles for beadwork two or three years ago. I could never figure out where the "big eye" was on this needle. Then after playing around with it for a few minutes I realized that the whole needle is a "big eye". What a treat threading beaded yarn through these needles. For those of you having trouble, simply use your fingernail and lightly run it along the length of the needle. It separates along the length and from there you simply thread a beaded thread through it as if you were threading a regular needle. I will never use another needle for my beading projects again. Some of those big-eyed needles I bought from Hobby Lobby last year (an entirely different brand, by the way) are bent from careless storage, and also because they're a lot stronger than the other brand. I now use one of these needle sleeves from Hobby Lobby's sewing department for my beading needles. They fit perfectly in these tubes. I use my beading needles a lot since I do so many beading projects. They tend to hold their shape better and if stored properly they will last for years.
