Right out of the box this salt shaker was practically useless. The rounded corners on both sides were rough, with splinters sticking right out of the edge on one side. Every time I moved the basement, even if I didn't move the lid, small bits of bamboo were left all over the countertop or basement - I don't want that getting in my fingers when they get there, and I definitely want to not that it's in my salt! Also the lid doesn't fit properly, once used and dropped it lay askew as it was slightly lifted at one end next to the hinge and you had to adjust the lid or tap near the hinges to drop it and lay flat. The entire lid and hinge area felt very cheap and flimsy, and while I could probably sand things down and work on them to make them usable, I didn't pay that much for a salt shaker that I'd have to fix in a minute. I took it out of the box. Honestly it's not even worth 1/4 of what it is. Very disappointing.
