If you're looking for a portable projector I'd say this is your best bet. Purchase decision for this projector. As I was about to place an order, I was bothered that there was only 1 review and it wasn't detailed enough to make the jump. I finally decided to follow my intuition and I'm glad I did. I'm a minimalist and own an Intel NUC desktop (If you haven't heard of this and are looking for a desktop PC for non-gaming purposes, I highly recommend checking out Intel's own line of laptops. They vary by case size.) I wanted a display in a similar form factor without significantly sacrificing image quality, and that is what led me to this product. fell in love with: - Works fairly well in a well-lit room when plugged into a power source (when unplugged and on battery power the brightness drops to around 200 lumens, with an output of 500 lumens - not measured scientifically ) - Colors are really vibrant and accurately reproduce what was on my desktop monitor. Very small and light (see product description for dimensions and weight). Most of the controls are on the projector itself. Just in case you lose the remote control doesn't render the projector unusable. Autofocus and automatic keystone correction are impressive. This is a short throw projector, meaning it can project large images from shorter distances than a traditional projector. Power Adapter Small and portable, but the cord is long enough. The only drawback: - The video input (HDMI) is located directly behind the projector lens. This can be a problem when trying to project video onto your bedroom roof. But you can get around this with a simple adjustment you can make out of some cardboard. My suggestion from Asus was to have at least one HDMI port on the side so people can use the project in any orientation. The images uploaded show a comparison between the S2 Beam (claimed 500 lumens) (bottom projected image) and the DBPower L21. (Specified 4200 lumens) (top projected image). Although the DBPower should be 8x the brightness, the S2 Beam excels in image quality and matches the brightness levels. There's a factor of 4x in the price, while the S2 Beam is 1/4 or smaller than the DBPower L21, so it's not really a fair comparison for either, but these are the two projectors I had on hand to compare to give idea.
