Honestly I don't recommend this product. Immediately after using it, I had problems with buzzing/humming in the sound. It got worse over time and shut off completely and I use this cord cautiously in the car while my phone is on the dash. The tip is flexible and allows for too much movement, it is filled with rubber and plastic which makes it easy to fail. That's what happened with cable #1, I'll try to use cable #2. I cut this thing open to see what went wrong as expected, all the solder joints on one side of the connector are completely disconnected from the board. This is bad design. You can use this for something you always leave plugged in and sit on a flat surface, but it won't last long for permanent plugging and unplugging. Updated 07/25/21. was defective immediately and did the same thing with humming noises, disconnected connections etc. I dropped both cables. Went and paid for an OE product from Apple and it works great.
