Review on Toyota Highlander Windshield Wiper Blades by Samuel Naidu

Done cheaply with even cheaper results. In a word, regret.

I bought this for a 2003 Toyota Highlander and I'm sorry I wasted my time. The advantage of this wiper + wiper combination is simple. it was cheap and it came/shipped quickly. Unfortunately, these are only pluses. The windshield wiper is made of cheap plastic and is poorly designed and manufactured. It is neither flexible nor resilient. The method of attaching the wiper to the arm is a rudimentary clipping of a plastic rod on the wiper into the wiper clip, which is also a plastic clip. It doesn't appear to be a standard wiper type, so I think you'll need to keep using Otuayauto wipers in the future. At $20 for the whole wiper arm it's not necessary, it's a bad deal price wise because you can just buy the whole arm at a parts store for almost the cost of a wiper arm, but the net result is very cheap The plastic construction is there in that the wiper does not bend or flex where it rests on the window, allowing the wiper to curve around the curves of the window to actually wipe it. Only about 1/2-2/3 of the wiper touches the glass. I tried to help him out by putting some light lube on the joints and working them to see if I could loosen them up so they would work better. Even with a helping hand and some assistance, the caretaker won't lie down anywhere during the move. This wiper could have worked on a car with a completely flat disc, but even the very soft curve of the 2003 Highlander was too much for its cheap design to get a good cleaning result. The only reason I would recommend this wiper is if you are dying to pass a state background test that requires an on-vehicle wiper and you absolutely couldn't afford anything better. Otherwise I would invest in something with better processing. If you look closely at my photos, you can see where the janitor washed away, and not with a spray, removed a light layer of dust from the window.

Pros
  • Blade
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
