I was initially disappointed because the AC adapter introduced hum into the audio of videos recorded with this unit. However, after some experimentation, I found that the cable for my external microphone was too long to use with this adapter. It worked great on battery power, but there was a problem in combination with the AC connection. When I switched from a 10 foot cable to a 4 foot cable the noise was gone. Being able to record long sessions on mains power is great as the battery always drained when it was awkward to stop and change batteries.
