I plugged it in and it immediately and continuously produced a high pitched tone of about 15kHz. It takes very little quality control for something like this to pass without camera testing.

It's only been a few days for me and nothing bad has happened. That's all you need to know, right? For now, the camera stays on with the usual idle timeout. The only thing that bothers me is that the battery indicator shows half the charge. I haven't seen if it has any negative effects yet. I will let you know if anything changes. UPDATE (11/2/18): I use the camera 2-4 hours, 4 days a week and no problems.

EDIT: My initial check (which I've saved below) revealed that I couldn't connect the connectors together. There is a lot of resistance when you try to push them together and it seems like pushing through breaks each piece but I tried pushing them through anyway and they went in successfully and the product works as intended.
