Review on Smartphone HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro 6/128 GB, Dual nano SIM, black by Stanislaw Was ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, I recommend that you try it.

In low-light shooting, it at best reaches the level of Huawei P20 Pro (judging by the results of shooting by P20 Pro users and reviews). The telephoto is really the best on the market (like the P20 Pro), but it is weak in low light (it actually does not turn on then). The cameras are really good, but not space ones) Still, there is not enough optical stabilization on the main module and wide-angle (although the electronic one copes quite well in most cases). Gesture navigation is not friendly with third-party launchers: in Nova Launcher, the animation is clumsy with the "home" gesture. Unfortunately, the whole impression of the smartphone is spoiled by marriage and the attitude of the representative company to this problem. Addition: After ating to the 146th firmware, the problem with 4k video disappeared - now the stabilization is good, the picture does not tremble on the sides.

Pros
  • There are a lot of good things about this device. 1) A convenient set of cameras of sufficiently high quality; 2) Autonomy - the best in the category of flagships, a full day of use is guaranteed with very active use (without games); And so 1.5 - 2 days. 3) Speed of work: the fastest smartphone I have seen so far, applications open much (!) Faster than on a mid-budget Snapdragon 625 smartphone with almost pure Android. 4) Dimensions: it is convenient to hold in your hand (rather narrow), it does not interfere in your pocket. 5) (Subjectively) I really liked the design, although it copies the front panel of the Galaxy line. 6) The presence of two authentication methods: by fingerprint and by face. The print is rarely used, not as fast as ultrasonic, but acceptable given the convenience of the location. 7) IP68 protection.
Cons
  • 1) Everything is overshadowed by one huge ugly flaw - the massive marriage of screens from LG (well, at least there are models with screens from BOE, but they come across less often) and the absence of any official position of the company on this issue in 2022 (which makes people more nervous) . The first smartphone that came to me on pre-order turned out to be defective: I used it for 14 days, got a replacement, changed it in 7 days (I didn’t have the phone for 2 days out of 7). The new one came with a normal screen. However, not everyone was so lucky - someone was sent new ones with the same marriage - which is no good at all! In general, all this can be described by one minus: poor maintenance of the flagship model. Other disadvantages are not so significant: 2) The front camera is clearly not a strong point: the focus seems to be fixed, in poor lighting the quality is much inferior to the iPhone, Pixel and Samsung. 3) Video recording: Full HD 60 fps shoots noticeably with worse quality than FullHD 30 fps (there is stabilization in both of these modes, but the 1st one gives more noise and color reproduction is worse, it scales more strongly). Total Full HD 60 fps only for good shooting conditions. 4k - in principle, it can be considered in flight for now (it may be corrected, but for now, with the available 30 fps, the picture floats on the sides). 4) The screen fails the bend test. 5) Not the most beautiful shell (launcher), so to speak. 6) Lack of jack 3.5. The same Samsung was somehow able to leave it and provide IP68 protection. Although with such a length of a smartphone, you can’t put it in a pocket with a jack.
